When a spreadsheet gets to be large and frequently updated the last thing you want is to have to repeatedly update ranges sourcing pivottables and charts. The smart way to do this is to use XL's table function. Then as new data is added to the table the pivottable or chart automatically expands to include the new information. HOW TO SET UP A TABLE Click anywhere in the range, go to INSERT / TABLE, click OK to select the range: HOW TO LINK TO A PIVOTTABLE Go to INSERT / PIVOTTABLE and insert the name of the new table (from TABLETOOLS / DESIGN after clicking in the new table) as the source. The pivottable automatically picks up the new range:
